Signum News runs this site and looks after any details you give us. You can reach us through the contact page, or by post at Signum News, c/o Artsite, Theatre Square, Swindon SN1 1QN.

If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, the time you signed up, the page you signed up on, and a hashed version of your IP address. The hash is one-way, so we cannot turn it back into your IP address; we use it only to stop abuse such as mass sign-ups.

If you use the contact form: your name (if you give it), your email address, your message, the time, and the same hashed IP address.

To send you the weekly Signum News newsletter, and to reply when you write to us. Nothing else.

Your consent. You give it when you subscribe or send a message, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Use the unsubscribe page, or the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. It takes effect straight away.

Until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your address and the date you left, so we never email you again by mistake. Ask us through the contact page and we will delete that too. Contact messages are kept only as long as we need them to deal with what you asked.

We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone. If we use an email delivery service to send the newsletter, it will handle your address only on our behalf, and this page will name it.

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies and runs no analytics. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser. The thumbs up and down buttons on stories, and the time spent reading a story, are recorded anonymously to help tune the scores; they are not linked to you.

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you through the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
